Safeguarding adults at risk means protecting adults who may be unable to protect themselves from abuse, neglect, exploitation, or harm because of their care and support needs. It involves promoting their rights, wellbeing, independence, and safety, while ensuring they can access support and make informed choices about their lives.
With both children and young people and adults at risk abuse can take a number of forms and includes physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect. You can find out more about the types of abuse on the Manchester City Council web pages.
If you have a concern of this nature, either for yourself or for somebody else, you can report this on Report and Support.
