What will happen next?
When you report a hate crime or incident through Report + Support, the Students' Union Advice Centre will contact you within 24 hours (excluding weekends).
Whether you attend a Hate Crime Reporting Centre or report through Report + Support, a member of the team will speak to you about your options, including the process for reporting incidents to the police and other support available.
The police take hate crime very seriously and will record and investigate an offence even if you prefer to remain anonymous. However, you must be made aware that further investigation and prosecution is limited if the police cannot contact you.

Your report will be forwarded straightaway to the relevant police force for investigation but it may not receive attention immediately.
For this reason, you should never use this form to report an incident where:
- The offender is still present
- You or anyone else is seriously hurt or in danger
- You think the offender may return
In the above circumstances we would urge you to immediately call 999 for the police or contact the University Security team on 0161 247 2222.
